Nico Zuluaga
Nico's love affair with Capoeira started in 2007 when he was invited to a Capoeira Regional class at the Claremont Colleges, this class was led by instrutor Cabeca de Coco from Courdao de Ouro.
From 2009-2011, Nico trained under Mestre Penteado in Rancho Cucamonga, also from Cordao de Ouro.
Since 2012, Nico has been training Capoeira Angola with Instrutor Jelani Lateef of the group N'golo Preto Velho De Mestre Themba.
Mestre Themba comes from the lineage of GCAP and Mestre Joao Grande, he is also the only American practitioner of Capoeira who has mastered both the Angola and Regional styles of the art form.
Nico began to instruct at the request of his teacher in the spring of 2016 and is proud to call himself a member of N'golo Preto Velho De Mestre Themba.
Nico is also practitioner of Shamanism, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Reiki Teaching Master. Moved by the beauty and mysticism of the Universe, Nico has spent the last decade studying numerous cultural traditions, rituals, and techniques for personal growth and healing. He employs this ancient wisdom in his own spiritual practice, and hopes to share these gifts with others along this Journey. He specializes in Shamanic Sound Sessions, Heart Center Harmonics, Healing through Artistic Expression, and sacred movement through Capoeira Angola.
He and his family can be found through out the area vending their wares, holding healing events and teaching courses.
