Try one or more martial arts to see which is best for you, with no long-term obligation. The DAC does not require contracts.
New Shotokan Karate students can try training with us for a week (1-2 classes) for FREE.

DAC and its instructors reserve the right to cancel, change, or reschedule classes as deemed necessary.

Iaido (click for more info)

Traditional Samurai School

A Japanese martial art that emphasizes being aware and capable of quickly drawing the sword and responding to a sudden attack.   The name can be translated as the way of harmonious living, the art of adapting to circumstance, or the way of being here and now.  Practice emphasizes smooth and efficient movement.

Classes: Saturdays from 1:00 to 2:30/3:00 PM

Testing requires membership with the Nippon Meirinkai (the style’s official organization in Japan) for testing ($70 first year, $50/yr thereafter)

Aikido & Sword (click for further info)

"The way of harmonious spirit"

The Japanese martial art of Aikido is a peaceful discipline for effective self-defense. The classes include stretching, instruction in safe rolling and falling, joint-lock and throwing techniques, weapons, and etiquette.  
Open to students 15+ years old.

Kobudo (click for further info)

Traditional Okinawan weapon practice - mainly focused on exercises and kata with bo (6 foot staff), tunqua (police baton), and sai (three pronged short sword).  Instruction is based on the Matayoshi style of Kobudo.

Classes: Sundays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM

Yearly membership in Matayoshi Kobudo Kodokan International (the style’s official organization, based in San Marcos, California) required ($75 annual fee)

Japanese Jujutsu (click for further info)

Japanese Jujutsu is an ancient martial art from which others, such as Judo and Brazilian Jujitsu, were derived. It involves immobilization, throwing, striking, defense and sometimes the use of small weapons. Students also study technique theory, Japanese history and terminology, the human body and first aid.

For students paying for unlimited karate training (two or more training times per week)
* 6 months paid in advance: $960.00 ($30.00 savings)
* 12 months paid in advance: $1,860.00 ($120.00 savings)

Please note: there are no charter school discounts. The DAC is a vendor with some charter school programs. Please inquire if interested in having your charter school offer DAC Karate in its curriculum. We offer Youth Karate (ages 7-12 yo) and Teen Karate (ages 13-18 yo).
